Calvary Baptist Church of Jacinto City - Preaching Grace, rinning the race, seeking His face
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalms 119:105
My words will never pass away   Matthew 24:35
Study to show that you are approved of God, a worker who needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the true word.  II Timothy 2:15
Blow the dust off your Bible
It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to read and study the Holy Bible, the Word of God. Read it for comfort and peace. Study it to learn about God, His plan, His purpose and His will. The Bible is true, relevant, infallible and eternal. When people ask me how they may know the will of God for their lives, I tell them by praying, studying the Bible, trusting the Spirit of God and just living. A Christian who does these things faithfully cannot help but follow the will of God. Christ just lives His life in us.
Oh we will make mistakes...oh boy will we, and we will sin, but when a believer walks in the Word and the Spirit, God shows the way. Knowing our sins are forgiven by Christ's sacrifice and because we have believed in Him, makes all the difference.
I will be posting verses and comments here. Direct your questions to the Contact Us page. There is also a page for prayer requests.
In His Love,
John 3:16
Many of us know that referrence so well that we don't even need to quote the verse; we know the words and what they mean...or we should. My Mom likes to say that when all the theological discussions and denominational arguments have ended, John 3:16 still stands.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We know the words; many of us memorized them in Sunday School or at family devotionals, but what does the verse actually teach? I like to look at this verse as having two parts. The first part tells us that God the Father sent the Lord Jesus to earth for the purpose of dying for everybody. The price for all our sins has been paid. That is both tragic and wonderful. The second part tells us that this tragic event, which is wonderful because it is the result of God's love for the whole world, is beneficial to those who believe in Christ and His complete work.
The first part tells us that God loved the world enough to send Jesus to die for us. The second part tells us that only those who believe will gain eternal life.
God loves you. Now believe Him and accept His salvation by trusting Christ. If you are saved already, how is your walk with God?
